North Spit--Sunday, September 23

There are lots of trails out on the North Spit.  On this hike we'll walk a little less than 5 miles out along the spit, through coastal forests, with views of the bay, until we get to a pair of bunkers overlooking the bay.

The return will be along the shoreline, which provides good views of North bent.

There will be plenty of loose sand on this walk, so you need to be prepared for that.

We are rating this hike as moderate to difficult (because of loose sand...there's very little elevation gain) and you should plan on 3 to 3.5 hours to complete the trip.

Bring lunch and plenty of water. Don't forget your sunscreen or other sun protection. Walking sticks recommended.
