Dry Creek Wet Hike--Sunday August 21

We are heading back to this beautiful  tributary of the Sixes River near Edson Creek Campground.

Reg Pullen will lead us along Dry Creek, which  is  intermittently dry and wet along it’s course.  We will follow  the creek bed through woods, narrow canyons, over gravel bars and boulders with occasional sections of ankle deep  to knee deep or higher water.  We may hike along an old road that parallels the creek and will take some of the creek hiking out of the trip, but nevertheless, you can count on getting wet.

Hike is 10 - 12 miles out and back and rated difficult to most difficult (mainly due to walking on creek rock--some dry, some wet).

 * Sorry but dogs are not allowed on this hike due to the terrain and a high level of bear activity in this area.

Those who are not up for the full 10-12 miles out and back can shorten their hike by returning on their own earlier in the hike.

Sturdy boots or a pair of water sandals or tennis shoes are needed.  Whatever you wear they will be wet.  Bring walking sticks, if you have them, for stability on the rocks.

* If you are going on the longer hike there may be some swimming involved, so leave your electronics at home or make sure everything is packed in water tight containers.
